Eternal Manchu Soldier! Served with 1st Bn 9th Infantry from 11-79 to 3-81 at both Liberty Bell and Greaves, and I was fotunate to have also served with Col (then Major) Jack H. Jacobs when we were both with the 2d Bn 32d Infantry, Ft Ord, Ca. prior to my PCS to the DMZ.. The Col taught me to be tanacious, never to dishonor my oath, or to mistreat a prisoner, or to let anyone else do it! He taught me to be a darn good soldier, and to never give up! To that end, Im determined to bring awareness to the "Ignored War" on Korea's DMZ and all its many Veterans! So to all my brothers, I say "Raise Up", and "Keep Up The Fire"! And it is past time the men of B Co 1/9's Emergency Evacuation Patrol of 12/7/1979 got the recogniiton they deserve, and especially SFC Thomas L. Anderson! This man gave up his life trying to help another already wounded Manchu carry a third wounded Manchu from an illegal, unmarked NK minefield that day, He is the epitome of what a SRNCO is and should be, and a shining example of a Manchu Soldier! Its past time this man was regoignized as the true hero he is, and we all stood up, RAISED UP, and demanded the ARMY and the UNC stopped making him a scapegoat! Just remeber brothers, "No greater love than this hath any man, than to lay down his life for a friend." If SFC Anderson can do that without a moments hesitation, how can we all sit idly by and let his name continue to be sullied or fogotten with a pack of lies designed to do nothing more than help the US Army and the UNC save face, and continue the insane politics of appeasement with the communist North Koreans?! He earned that recognition as a hero, and his kids deserve to know him as a hero!
